And I'd like
to be your Virtual Assistant. As
a VA, my goal is to free up some of your valuable timetime I know you'd
rather devote to your business or profession,
your family or special interests, or perhaps your own mental and physical
well-being!
For more than five years, I
maintained and designed websites for an
Internet Service Provider (ISP) on California's Central Coast. For
most of that time, I
worked "virtually," meaning entirely from my well-equipped home office
located about 200 miles away in El Dorado Hills, a
lovely community nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Sacramento.
Today, I continue to provide my clients with excellent, personalized web
and general clerical services from my home office as an Independent Contractor.
Using the Internet, email, the phone, fax, instant messaging and postal mail, I
provide fast, efficient, and cost-effective service to my clients without ever stepping into their offices.
I prefer to develop long-term
relationships with my clients. By getting to know you, your business,
and your website well, I can anticipate your needs, thus helping you in the quickest, most efficient way possible.
I have more than 20 years of general office and
computer experience. I earned my B.A. from the University of California,
Berkeley, and graduate degrees (M.A., Ph.D.) from the University of Chicago.
I also hold a certificate in Technical Writing
from De Anza College, San Jose. I have researched, authored and
co-authored scientific papers, abstracts, and successful grant applications. My library includes three shelves of
writing-related reference materials: when I don't know the answer to a
question straight
away, I know
how to find it quickly!
I enjoy photography, graphic arts, gardening, reading, and
travel. My wonderful husband, Bill, is the IT Manager of a mid-sized
company. I am proud to say he is also a Marine Corps Reservist who
recently returned
from an eight-month deployment to Iraq. He is currently the Reserve Sergeant
Major of a CH-46 Sea Knights Helicopter Squadron at Edwards Air Force
Base. Bill is an avid mountain biker, skier and snow boarder, and enjoys sailing, surfing and windsurfing.
Bill is also an Assistant Scout Master for
Boy Scout Troop 454 of El Dorado
Hills, where I serve as the volunteer Webmaster. Our son Devin, age
12, is active in Scouts, plays in his Middle School band, enjoys skiing, and loves anything to do with Star Wars. He is
also an avid reader and a budding graphic artist and science fiction writer.
